NUBIC® — Cervical fusion cage
Anterior cervical fusion cage (ACDF) with a curved anatomical surface and an option pre-filled with KAINOS® + — optimal fit with the vertebral endplates, for the C3–TH1 segment.

NUBIC® is an anterior cervical intervertebral fusion cage developed by SIGNUS for anterior cervical fusion (C3–TH1), implanted using the established Smith–Robinson technique. It belongs to the same family as RABEA®, from which it differs through its curved anatomical surface.
The curved (convex) surface of NUBIC® fits optimally with the endplates of the adjacent vertebral bodies. The open design allows filling with natural bone graft or synthetic substitute; in addition, NUBIC® is also available factory pre-filled with KAINOS® +, simplifying the intraoperative workflow. The serrated teeth characteristic of SIGNUS provide primary stability and a reduced risk of implant migration.
NUBIC® is made of the high-performance medical polymer PEEK-OPTIMA® (radiolucent), with titanium alloy radiographic markers (Ti-6Al-4V) for intra- and postoperative verification and artifact-free MRI imaging. The implant is available in barred (ventral–dorsal) and barless variants, in footprints of 14×13 mm and 17×13 mm. For additional anterior fixation, the TOSCA® or ASCOT® ventral plates can be used.
- Degenerative disorders of the cervical disc, at the C3–TH1 level.
- Disc herniation; mechanical instability; osteochondrosis.
- Spinal canal stenosis; spondylolisthesis.
- Pseudarthrosis or failed anterior spondylodesis (fusion).
Curved anatomical surface
Convex profile that fits optimally with the endplates of the adjacent vertebral bodies.
Pre-filled option
Available factory pre-filled with the KAINOS® + bone substitute, for a simplified surgical workflow.
Open design
Filled with natural bone graft or synthetic substitute and promotes osseointegration.
SIGNUS serrated teeth
High primary stability and a reduced risk of implant migration.
Artifact-free MRI
Radiolucent PEEK-OPTIMA® with titanium markers — optimal postoperative monitoring and safe positioning.
With or without bar
Barred (ventral–dorsal) and barless variants, in two footprints, for adaptation to the anatomy.
