VeinVu — Infrared vein visualizer (non-contact)

A non-contact vein visualizer that illuminates the skin with near-infrared light and projects the vein map in real time — for safer and faster venous access, especially in difficult patients (infants, the elderly, dark skin tone, obesity).

Clinical description

VeinVu is a non-contact vein visualizer, developed by Majutech, that illuminates the skin with near-infrared light and projects the peripheral vein map in real time, directly onto the skin — displaying the vessels at their actual caliber. It thereby supports venipuncture and blood sampling, increasing the success rate and reducing discomfort.

The device is particularly useful when veins are difficult to identify: in infants, the elderly, people with a darker skin tone, or with obesity. The image can be displayed in several colors (white background with black veins, black background with green veins, green background with black veins) and in three sizes (small, medium, large), with an HD mode for detailed observation of small vessels and a guide line for precise positioning of the injection. Calibration ensures an accuracy of ±200 μm.

The range comprises the VeinVu 100 and VeinVu 200 models. VeinVu 200 (215 × 55 × 70 mm, 390 g) offers General/HD/Line modes, an optimal focal distance of 40 cm, and a battery life of about 3 hours. Both models can be used handheld, on a desk stand (standard), or on a mobile trolley (optional). In addition to venous access, VeinVu also supports the safe administration of facial injections (Botox and fillers) by highlighting the microvessels.

Indications
  • Localization of peripheral veins for venipuncture and catheter placement.
  • Blood sampling.
  • Patients with difficult venous access: infants, the elderly, dark skin tone, obesity.
  • Safe administration of facial injections (Botox, fillers) by highlighting the microvessels.
