MUTARS® RS (hip revision)
Modular hip revision system — for bone defects and geometries requiring special uncemented fixation.

MUTARS® RS (Revision System) is the module of the MUTARS® system dedicated to modular hip revision. The MUTARS® revision system was first implanted in 1998.
The components include the RS cup, the RS proximal part, the RS metaphyseal component, and the uncemented RS stem (made of titanium alloy, with a hydroxyapatite coating), as well as an RS coupling device. Tapered RS stems and the RS coupling are available to adapt to specific bone geometries and clinical conditions, as an alternative method of uncemented fixation.
The stems have a hexagonal cross-section for optimal intramedullary fixation, and the toothed connections allow intraoperative rotational adjustment. The RS system can be completed with the RS revision cup and with EPORE® cones for larger bone defects.
- Hip joint revision.
- Bone defects and geometries requiring special uncemented fixation (tapered RS stems).
- Reconstruction after removal of a prosthesis (infected or non-infected).
Modular for revision
RS cup, proximal part, metaphyseal component, and RS stem, adjustable intraoperatively.
Uncemented tapered stems
Tapered RS stems with HA coating for fixation in difficult bone geometries.
Hexagonal fixation
Hexagonal cross-section for primary intramedullary stability.
EPORE® augmentation
Porous-titanium cones for larger bone defects.
